Going the Extra Mile: A Snowy Winter Installation on Park Ave, Newmarket
At MapleFort Doors, we firmly believe that true professional service isn’t just about doing the job you were hired for; it’s about doing whatever it takes to ensure the homeowner’s complete peace of mind. Our project on February 14th at 216 Park Ave in Newmarket perfectly demonstrated how our team handles unexpected requests, even in the middle of a snowy Canadian winter.
The Upgrade: Mahogany Horizontal Groove Fiberglass Door
This project involved a beautiful custom-built stone home currently under construction. To complement the striking architectural lines and the grey stonework, we installed a premium Fiberglass Door in a rich Mahogany finish with Horizontal Grooves.
The dark mahogany tone provides a stunning visual anchor for the home’s facade, while the horizontal grooves add a subtle, modern texture. More importantly, especially given the heavy snow surrounding the site, the fiberglass construction ensures ultimate winter insulation, keeping the freezing temperatures out and the warmth in.

The Challenge: An Unexpected Request on a Freezing Day
We were initially brought onto this site as subcontractors by the main renovation company. According to our original work order, we were only scheduled to install the door itself; the lockset installation was not included in our scope of work.
However, the homeowner was on-site during the installation. Seeing the beautiful new door go up, they realized they urgently wanted a proper lockset installed that very same day to secure their new build.
The MapleFort Solution: Patience and Expert Guidance
It was a freezing, snowy day, and saying “that’s not in our contract” would have been the easy way out. But that’s not the MapleFort way.
Instead of leaving the homeowner stranded, our installation team immediately stepped up. We provided the homeowner with exact specifications and professional advice on what type of lockset would best fit the new fiberglass door. While the homeowner drove to the local hardware store to purchase the hardware, our team patiently waited on the snowy construction site.
Once they returned, we didn’t just quickly screw the lock in; we meticulously installed, calibrated, and adjusted the new lockset until the mechanism operated flawlessly and the homeowner was 100% satisfied with the security and feel.
The Final Result
The result is a flawlessly installed, highly secure, and exceptionally insulated modern entryway that stands resilient against the Newmarket winter.
This Park Ave project is a testament to our core philosophy: we don’t just walk away when the basic job is done. Whether it’s braving a snowstorm or waiting for a client to buy parts, we are dedicated to delivering excellence and complete customer satisfaction in every detail.
